Pars Overview#

Introduction#

Pars is a developer tool designed to accelerate the software development process for software architects and developers. It achieves this by generating dynamic code, boilerplate, and various developer tools, managing the entire process from project creation to project deployment. Utilizing the CLI, Pars documents the usage of the terminal application, explaining how to use commands, how they work, and how to create configuration files. Pars provides user-friendly, detailed, and step-by-step explanations, ensuring clarity in technical terms and using examples for better understanding.

Core Concepts#

Workspace#

A workspace is a physical section where projects are organized. It acts as the main directory containing all projects and their associated files, ensuring a structured and manageable development environment.

Set#

A set manages the relationships of projects independent of the workspace. Projects, templates, and resources are related through the "set" information and operations are applied to the specified set. A set represents the entirety of an application. In a traditional architecture, it can define the whole application like an e-commerce project "AcmeECommerce" in a monorepo, whereas in a microservice architecture, it can define all microservices, all MFE projects, and libraries also as "AcmeECommerce".

Layer#

A layer includes the path and package information within the project where a component resides. It organizes the structure of contents within the project, ensuring proper organization and management of project elements.

Group#

A group facilitates the aggregation of relationships and dependencies of one or more projects under the same application framework. Depending on the platform, it can generate physical files similar to solutions in the .NET ecosystem.

Project#

A project within Pars is a comprehensive entity that includes various components like templates, resources, and sections. Projects can be managed, built, and deployed through automated processes provided by Pars.

Template#

Templates in Pars define the structure and standards for code generation. By adhering to predefined templates, developers can ensure consistency and compliance with architectural guidelines, speeding up the development process.

Resource#

Resources are reusable components or assets that can be utilized across various projects. They provide a way to share common functionality and assets, reducing duplication and effort.

Section#

Sections in Pars provide a standard between templates and resources, facilitating the customization of resources. They serve as sub-solutions for resources, ensuring consistent and manageable integration of resources with templates.

Workflow#
